Chinese cinnamon is otherwise known as Cinnamomum aromaticum, and is the stronger variant used in Chinese cooking, curries and other Asian cuisine. The two are subtly different, though can generally be used interchangeably. Cinnamon powder is one of the earliest known spices and has an aromatic sweet flavour.
